A Long Association with Books
Opposite the South door of York Minster
Our shop in Minster Gates is situated at the historic core of the city. This small street, through which one would have passed into the medieval cathedral precincts, has enjoyed a long and continuous association with books — from the bookseller John Foster in 1580, to the statue of Minerva reclining against a pile of books in the eaves above.
